What Does My Chest X-ray Report Indicate?

I got a chest xray to ensure that I did not crack a rib. No cracked rib, but the findings were:
2. Bilateral parahilar interstitial prominence. Various
infectious/inflammatory processes can have this appearance.
My doctor said that since I have no complaints, she's not worried about it. But now I am. (I have felt sometimes that I can't get a full breath.) So, what does it mean? It could be caused by viruses, the internet states, and I've had many of those. Never been a smoker. Healthy 51 year old woman otherwise. Can you assist in explaining to me? And could this be a problem for me in the future? Or is it just a sign I've had a particular virus and it shouldn't cause me any more problems.
Thank you for your help. XXXXXXX Fernandes
Get done PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Bilateral parahilar prominence is commonly seen with
1. Bronchitis
2. Viral infection
3. Hilar Lymphadenopathy
4. If chest x ray is taken in expiratory view.
Since you are not much symptomatic, you should get done repeat chest x ray after 1 month.
If this is normal then no need to worry.
But if this shows similar or worsening opacities then consult pulmonologist and get done
1. PFT (Pulmonary Function Test)
2. CT thorax.
PFT is needed for bronchitis and CT is needed for Lymphadenopathy and infection.
So at present, don't worry much. Wait for 1 month and get done repeat chest x ray.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
