What Does My Chest X-ray Result Indicate?
Not a dangerous condition, can be due to many causes.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.
I have read through your query in detail.
Chest X rays show in detail about small airways and blood vessels in lungs. Usually this is seen as thin lines which are more towards the central part of chest and reduce in intensity and appearance in the periphery off lungs. This is the normal appearance of lung markings.
In certain conditions, there is infection and inflammation of the small airways in lungs and this can be seen as thicker markings and these can be seen well even in the lung periphery. It is also seen in conditions where there is increase blood flow in the lungs.
It can be due to history of smoking but please do not get worried. This appearance is not dangerous but it is to be seen in relation to any lung problems you are having.
If you are having cough, allergy or asthma then you might need to take medications as prescribed by your doctor. Reducing smoking will also help you.
Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.
Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.
Regards,
Dr.Vivek
