What Does My Chest X-ray Report Indicate?

Question: I received a copy of my XR Chest PA and Lateral 2 view... It says,
An opacity in the left lung apex likely represents superimposed osseous and vascular structres. However, concirmation with CT of the chest is recommded.
What does this mean???
Thank you for your time!!

Brief Answer:
CT is needed to rule out suspicious lesion.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Chest x ray is taken in PA (posterioanterior) view.
In this ribs overlap with underlying lung tissue.
So any small lesion can be missed if it is behind the ribs.
Same happens with lateral view.
On your x ray, there are suspicious lesion on left apex (apical area). This is not clear due to overlapping by ribs.
So to overcome this and for better diagnosis, CT scan of thorax is required.
Can you please upload the image of x ray film /plate, so that I can guide you better.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
