What Does My Coronary Angiography Test Report Indicate?
Indicative of Coronary artery disease
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for your query.
The term 'Ostia' is used to indicate an 'opening' or 'orifice'. In this case it indicates the opening/ diameter of the concerned artery of the heart (branch of circumflex artery as per your post).
Ostial 50-60% disease means that the opening/ diameter of the artery has narrowed/ blocked to 50-60% of its normal.
As a result the arterial blood supply to the heart and hence its normal functioning is compromised.
This is indicative of Coronary artery disease.
Measures need to be taken to prevent the progression of this narrowing, which if continues further may result in complete blockage of the artery, leading to MI/ heart attacks.
Kindly let us know about the following:
1. What were your symptoms that led you to undergo this coronary angiography?
2. Any history of Hypertension, Diabetes, Lipid disorder, etc?
3. Any history of prolonged intake of medications?
4. History of smoking or alcohol consumption?
Also attach the report of your coronary angiography and any other associated investigations along with your post.
These will be helpful for us to understand your condition better & suggest appropriate management steps.
Wishing you a good health.
Take care.

Hello,
Thanks for your follow up query.
You can attach the reports along with your post in this page itself or email them. You can send them at YYYY@YYYY and address it to my name: Dr Polash Sannigrahi
Also let us know if your Cardiologist has carried out other tests and prescribed any medications.
Since you do not have any history of hypertension, diabetes or lipid disorders, the risk factors for progression of coronary artery disease is minimized.
However, you need to maintain proper diet and lifestyle measures from now onward.
Maintain proper nutrition and adequate hydration status. Avoid fast foods and lipid rich diet.
Avoid stress. Practice Yoga, meditation and relaxation techniques.
Wishing you a good health.
Take care.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for your follow up query.
I have gone through the investigation reports as attached to your post.
A. As per the Coronary angio, the major vessels in the heart are normal in anatomy.
The ostial disease noted in the small vessel of circumflex artery is a non-obstructive one i.e. not interfering with the normal blood flow.
B. As per the Echo, certain changes have been noted in the valve functioning.
But they are mild in nature and would not compromise with the normal functioning of the heart.
So, there is no need to worry as of now.
However, you need to take good care of your health to prevent any further progression of the condition.
Kindly continue the medications as advised by your treating Doctor and Cardiologist and also follow the diet & lifestyle measures as mentioned in my previous answer.
Wishing you a healthy life.
Take care.
