What Does My Echocardiogram Test Report Indicate?
Question: When my son Farman was 4 weeks old, our neo-natologist suggested an Echo, just for precautionary measure. We got an Echo done by a Paediatric Cardiologist, and found there was a 6mm PFO. Now my son is 9.5 months old, and he seems to be fine. He even had cold for the first time when he was 8 months old. Recently a week back he had cough and cold.
Is there a need to get Echo done again in order to identify whether PFO is closed or not ? Or are there any symptoms that I can look for so that I can identify whether Echo is necessary ?

Brief Answer:
Needs a follow up echocardiogram
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on Health care magic.
I think that your child needs a follow up echocardiogram to be done to evaluate the present status of PFO. Usually it manifests with increased propensity to catch cold.
