What Does My Follicular Scan Test Result Indicate?
Question: Hello Doctor,
I am on regular period cycle for last 3 years. The cycle never varies between 29-33 days. Me and my husband have been trying for a baby for last 3 years. I had my LMP or April 20th 2016. This time when we consulted the doctor, there was a follicular scan done on the 11th and 13th day. The reports showed :-
11th day - 2 very well grown follicles (LO - 20*20 mm; RO- 16*17mm); ET- 7mm
13th day - Both follicles ready to merge; ET- 10 mm and all 3 lines formed (a very well formed lining).
I was advised by the doctor to take Duphaston from the 13th to the 27th day - 14 days.By 23rd day I already had sore breasts and a pain. And today (31st day), I have my periods.
I have 3 questions based on this:-
a) Will duphaston be useful after all the 3 lines are formed. Will it not reduce the lining and reduce sustenance of pregnancy? According to me it will surely not help in forming more sustained lining. ACCORDING TO ME IT IS CAUSING ME TO HAVE PERIODS.
b) Is SIPHENE okay to take between 2nd to 6th day. If not please suggest a better period to take
c) Will Susten 2 mg be helpful to have higher progestrone levels during the mid and end of the periods. Can I please know from what days it should be taken and what dosage? IF NOT PLEASE SUGGEST A BETTER TABLET.

1. Duphastone is progesterone which builds the endometrial lining and it supports the pregnancy and conception by providing a favourable environment for the fetus.
2.Siphene is best taken from day 2 to day6 of the periods.
3. Susten is also progesterone which supports the pregnancy by its effect. You have to take either Susten or duphastone from day 14 to day 28 of your cycle.

Actually, I only need clarifications on duphaston. They are as follows:-
a) When endometium lining is very good, should we take duphaston? - Will the tablet decrease the lining after some days of taking the tablet?
b) I have a feeling that the lining decreases due to duphaston - Please advise me in this matter.
c) How many days dosage of duphaston is best for a 29-33 day cycle?

2.Duphastone is not known to decrease the thickness of the endometrial tissue.
