What Does My Follicular Study Report Indicate?
Question: I am planning for pregnancy. My doctor suggested me to do a follicular Study on 10th & 12th day of my LMP. Today was the 10th day. Below is the findings:
Urinary Bladder is well distended. Wall thickness is normal. No evidence of Calculi, mass or mural lesion.
Uterus: is anteverted and normal in size, measures 7.5 X 3.2 X 3.7 cms. Myometrial and Endometrial echoes are normal.
Both ovaries are normal in size.
Right Ovary: Measures 4.3 X 2.4 cms and shows a simple cyst measuring 3.1 X 2.8 cms.
Left Ovary: Measures 3.0 X 1.9 cms.
Both adnexa: Normal. No mass is seen.
Date: 12 Oct, 2014
Day: 10th
Right Ovary Follicle: 31 X 28 mm
Left Ovary Follicle: Multiple 7-8 mm follicles are seen.
Endometrium (ET): 3.6 mm
P.O.D: No free fluid.
Please let me know if the above conditions are good enough to conceive.

Brief Answer:
Dominant Follicle?
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I read your query and I understand your concerns.
Following is my reply:
1) Rt ovary shows cyst ( not a follicle). Please ask radiologist to confirm this is cyst or a follicle. If a scan was done on first 3 days of cycle, it would have identified a cyst distinct from follicle.
2) Other than that there is no mention of any other dominant follicles.
3) Dominant follicle is must for pregnancy. If its nor there then the chances of pregnancy are not there.
Let me know if you have any more doubts.
