What Does My Follicular Study Report Suggest?
Day 8: Right and Left Ovary Small : Endometrial thickness 4 mm.
Day 11: Right Ovary-16*16*12 : Endometrial thickness 6.5 mm. 8 July 2014 ; Day 15: Right Ovary-23*24**20 : Endometrial thickness 10.5 mm.
On Day 15, I got an Hcg Injection 10000 1 n, for egg rupture. Doctor suggested to intercourse on next day that is 9th july and next scan to see if the egg has rupture day after that is 10th july. Now my question is: If the egg is rupture and gets fertile today, will it be seen in the next scan? Is it safe to scan after intercourse? What are the chances of getting twins in this case? And what are the chances of getting pregnant?

Detailed Answer:
Dear member,
Thanks for writing.
The treatment given till now is right.
When we say release of egg it's actually the follicle which holds the egg and fluid is getting ruptured or opened after the injection. The egg is pretty small to be seen on ultrasound.
Besides if conception occured that is if egg meets sperm after intercourse it will still not be seen now as it's too small.
Your doctor during ultrasound looks for a follicle that had become smaller than its previous measurement and also fluid in the pelvic area.
This will tell whether the egg has been released.
The ultrasound is safe and and can be repeated often if required.
The chance of pregnancy in each cycle even though egg has released is only 15-20%.
Considering that only one follicle growth was mentioned in your scan and left ovaryhad no dominant follicle the chance of twins is less.
Hope this was helpful.
