Hi
I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your query.
I think I would be able to help you.
I have understood your past medical history.
I have read your reports as well.
I have the following suggestions.
1. Your home cysteine levels are low. And apolipoprotein are abnormal. That puts you on a variable cardiac risk. The option is to start folate tablets.
2. Your vitamin d levels are low. We should start replacement, and I suggest a vitamin d supplement of 60000 units weekly with calcium and low dose vitamin d 1000 units per day for 6 weeks followed by a repeat test.
3. Your HBA1C levels are raised. The means your sugar must be getting raised. It's better to keep a watch on your sugars regularly now. Initially I think it would be good to control sugars with diet and exercise.
This could be secondary to the history of pancreatitis.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information helps you. Please feel free to contact us for more information.
Best of luck. Dr Mittal.
Thank you for your reply .
How much folic acid to take everyday?please give good brand of folic acids. does eating spinach increase my folic acid levels?

Folate and sugar levels, here are some specifics

Hi,
I am glad to hear from you again.
Folivite can be taken as Tab Folate 5 mg once daily. Green leafy veg are not really rich in it but can be used anyways.
As for sugar levels, the PPBS sugars you have mentioned are suggesting that the sugars are going high. I think it is best that you buy a glucometer and test the sugars regularly. Some tablet may be necessary.
As for the backache, and other symptoms, I think it is a manifestation of low vitamin D. Replacement as I suggested should help you.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information helps you. Please feel free to contact me for further information. Best of luck.
