What Does My Lab Test Report Indicate?
I am 28 years old and pregnant for first time. I am currently on 12 weeks 4 days, i.e. just finished my first trimester and moved into the second. When I went in for routine check up, my gynecologist said all reports were fine, but have put me on following medication and asked me to continue this till end of pregnancy:
morning: Fol G2+ , afternoon: Gestacal and night: R B Tone XT
I do not have any medical conditions and my reports are all normal. I want to know why am I prescribed these drugs and are they safe for my baby?
These are safe for your baby.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The medicines that have been prescribed to you are the iron and calcium and folic acid supplements that are routinely given during pregnancy to prevent any iron or calcium deficiency symptoms in you. These should be taken in addition to a normal healthy diet so that you can sustain the extra stress and burden of pregnancy easily. These are dietary supplements that are best if continued throughout the pregnancy. These are safe for you and your baby.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.
