How are you going to email me when you don't have my address?
How are you going to email me when you don't have my address?
Brief Answer:
Please upload the report
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
different labs may use different cutoff values for various tests, so the original report should mention the values. I (or anybody else) can't say whether the values you've mentioned are positive or negative without knowing the lab's normal range for this test and which test it is!
The lab doctor should mark the results as positive or negative. Please upload the report and I'll be glad to provide the answers you're looking for...

I wish to know whether the results are negative or positive? If positive, was the virus contracted recently or sometime ago?
Brief Answer:
they're positive
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
thanks for the report!
The results are definitely positive.
The IgG antibody needs some time to develop which may vary from a couple of weeks to a month (this is an approximation). When the IgG is positive we know that the patient had contact with HSV but we don't know when. If the titers are rising between two samples (4-fold increase after a month) then the infection is recent. Recent infections are usually accompanied by symptoms (the characteristic skin or mucosal lesions).
Please contact me again, if you'd like further details.
Kind Regards!
