What Does My Lab Test Report Indicate?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
My Grandmother is doing fine now & we didn't give her any medicine after.
Follow the Advises..
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX Welcome to HCM,
I've gone through your query and understand your concern for your Grandmother..
I've reviewed the reports..
Suddenly raised blood pressure must be checked thoroughly specially at this age of 79 yrs and must be correlated with clinical examination too, so good thing that you've already got her checked..
FBS and CBC is grossly within normal limits only, but TSH is quite on the higher side..
To evaluate further is extremely important now, as she'll be needing appropriate treatment accordingly..
If you go through the lab report's page, you can see that there's a standard protocol flow-chart drawn there, that is the standard followed in this scenario..
So first of all you need to get FT3, FT4 as well as anti-TPO antibody done at the earliest and schedule an appointment with an Endocrinologist to get your grand-mom thoroughly examined and also to decide about the further course of management (it'll be based on her clinical features, the complete thyroid function test results as well as anti-TPO antibody)..
She doesn't appear to be hypertensive, that's why you don't need to give her any medicine now..sudden elevation of blood pressure can be due to various causes, that's why it's so important to get medical attention immediately..
Just get those tests done, and get her checked by the Endocrinologist in the first place..
Do update me later on how she stays..
Let me know if your having any further queries..
Take Care
Kind Regards

Overnight fasting for 8 hrs is enough for morning's first blood sample..
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX Welcome back,
Overnight fasting for 8 hrs(as usually happens considering bed time 11pm and wake up at 7 am next day) is enough, no extra precaution required..
The Anti TPO can be done at any time of the day, however, blood should be drawn one time only , so better to give sample for everything together after overnight fasting (as the first thing in the morning, in empty stomach off course)..
I'd request you to kindly check in with the lab from where your planning to do these, so that no delay or time gap happens, also different labs have some fixed protocol for different investigations, so please discuss with them accordingly as they'll be the best person to opine regarding their requirements in this regard..
Let me know how she stays in the due course.. Meanwhile try to get the scheduled appointment with the Endocrinologist at the earliest..
Take Care
Kind Regards

yes, keep me posted later on..
Detailed Answer:
Thanks XXXXXXX
Yes, just go ahead with these at first then get the Endocrinologist's scheduled appointment (as you can understand, I don't have the privilege to examine her in this regard), and let me know how it goes..
