What Does My Lab Test Report Indicate?

My wife blood test report is Okk as per normal range , I did thalassemia test for her before 10 days ago , yesterday I got the report , there is a some confusion for me .please check below report.
Investigation observed value unit reference interval
Haemoglobin A 96.0 % 94.3-98.3
Haemoglobin A2 3.6 % 2.0-3.5
Haemoglobin F 0.4 % 0.0-2.0
Haemoglobin S Absent % 0.0-0.0
Haemoglobin D Absent % 0.0-0.0
Haemoglobin C Absent % 0.0-0.0
Now my question , is here HB A2 is slightly more than the normal range , so what will effect for this in future ?
How it will be treatment ?
What type of food need to avoid & please give me a chart what food should take & what not .
Another thing I am very much afraid that , it will be any problem in pregnancy or conceive for a baby . we can conceive or not ?
Now 3 months she is taking continually each other day iron folic acid , also I saw in internet iron based fruit or foot need to avoid if she is thalassemia . is it correct or not?
Also iron folic acid each other day is good or not ?
Please answer the full above question ..waiting for your prompt replay //..

No need to worry.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. Let me assure you that the slight variation in the percentage of HbA2 does not signify anything and no intervention or treatment is required for the same. Thallasemia is a genetic disorder and occurs only if both the partners have the gene. Taking any fruit will not affect the thalassemia status of an individual. You need not worry about it and can safely proceed with pregnancy. Pre-conceptional folic acid is advisable and it is good that she is taking it. She should continue to take it till she gets pregnant and also during the initial part of the pregnancy. Whether she also requires iron supplementation depends upon the hemoglobin level. I would request you to let me the hemoglobin level and I can comment accordingly.
I do not see any significance of restriction of any food item. She can take any sort of healthy food and hence I am not bothering to mention a diet chart.
Let me know if I could help further.

Does not seem to be something to worry about.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. The hemoglobin level is fine and therefore iron supplementation is not essential.
You have stated the WBC count to be 4.6 (total WBC) and the total RBC as 10700. Please check if the values are correct. In any case, even if the WBC level is 10,700 I would not be worried unless she has any definite clinical symptoms.

There was a mistake..
Haemoglobin : 13.0 (ref value female 12.3-15.3)
total RBC: 4.6
Total WBC: 10700
Total Platelet :239000
Also , if there is not essential iron folic , she should take each day iron foilc or not ? please advice?
Also want to say we are thinking to get pregnant after 6 months..so is it essential to take iron foilc..please advice..
thanks ,
Ananta Guin
Folic acid is essential.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for clarifying.
She should take folic acid supplement (folvite 5 mg tablet) once daily. She need not take iron supplements. This is in consideration that you two are planning for a pregnancy, be it now or in 6 months.
I hope that your doubt is clarified.
