Question: Hello, I am 30 year old male. Recently i got my full medical check up for travelling abroad ( visa). I was told i have high SGPT- 79 and i have to reduce it, I am asked to come back after 1 week for repeat of SGPT. What precautions and what should i eat and do to reduce my SGPT? My weight is 90Kg, 178CM height. Recently i have been eating alot of oily food and aerated drinks( pepsi, coke) i do not drink alcohol. If you could guide me with this thanks.

Thanks for posting your query.

Mild increase in SGPT could be due to Viral infections, certain medications including Pain killers , Paracetamol and also Alcohol intake .

This elevation shall subside by itself but it may take 2-3 weeks . Since you have been asked for a repeat test after 1 week itself I recommend you get started on medication to accelerate the normalisation of SGPT. In that regard I recommend you to get a prescription for Tab Hepamerz and take it two times a day for a week .

Also eat less oily food , avoid non veg food and drink plenty of fruit juice . Don't use any other medications like Antibiotics, Pain killers or Paracetamol till next SGPT test.
