What Does My Lipid Profile Test Report Indicate?

default
Posted on Sat, 16 Sep 2017
Question: I am 36 years old, weight 65 kg, average health. Usually do not eat outside food, very less oils used in food at home. I went for a preventive health checkup where cholestrol level was too high. I then went for lipid profile test at another pathalogy lab where the reports came quite normal. Then after 1 week again went for same in another lab, but this time the cholestrol level was again high.
1) What to believe ? All three reports are very different.
What is your view over that ?

2) In preventive health checkup, a lot of tests results are there. Can we get anything that may be resulting in high cholestrol ?

3) Started taking atrovastatin and fenofibrate after consulting a doctor. What is your view and recommendation ?

Hello

After going through the medical details and reports provided by you I would like to tell you that among all three labs Thyrocare is the most reputed one and I would like to consider the reports of Thyrocare.

Yes your Triglyceride levels are quite high which probably be due to your genetic make up. And any Triglyceride levels more than 400 needs to be treated with medicine.

It's good that you have started with atorva and fenofibrate, continue them for 3 months and then repeat your lipid profile from Thyrocare again.

During these 3 months you have to start going daily brisk morning walk for 45 mins a day for 5 days a week regularly along with medicines. Drinks lots of water and eat healthy.

I hope this information will be helpful and will answer your questions.

Kind regards

Thanks for clarification. I will continue current medicines and will go for tests after 3 months. would like to provide status again then.
At that time I would need to put a new question to share reports ?
