What Does My Mammogram Report Indicate?

Question: I fell in dec. on my chest and breasts on a hardwood floor. I went for an xray a few days after the fall. they did a chest xray which revealed 3 cracked ribs and a little lung involvement. Last week I went for a routine mammogram. They called today for me to come back for another one and possibly an ultrsound. Could the fall have done something to my insides of the breast? If so wouldn't that have been seen on the xray I had in Dec? I am shaking while I type this I'm so scared and nervous. I saw no bruises on the outside of either breast when it happened.

Brief Answer:
Don't imagine things and get worried.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to healthcare Magic.
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns today.
Relax. Don't imagine things and get worried. If your last mammogram has been normal. it is unlikely that there is any serious reason for them to call you for another mammogram.
Probably due to the fall there may have been bleeding inside your breast, which might have healed with fibrosis/calcification resulting in some shadow on mammogram.
Do inform them about the fall when you go for the repeat mammogram.

Dr Rama

I went for the follow up mammogram today on my left breast. They also did an ultrasound and the radiologist and doctor could hardly find it because first it's so tiny and I'm overweight with fatty breasts. The doctor couldn't tell at all what it is but did say when I had tthe mammogram and it pressed my breast almost like a pancake the little spot also compressed and turned flat. The doctor said that's a good sign because usually something bad won't move or change in shape. Anyway she recommended either waiting 6 months and do another mammogram or have a needle biopsy done now to get an answer fast. Being a person that lives in a state of anxiety 24/7 I knew I couldn't function waiting 6 months so next week I'm have a needle biopsy taking a piece of the "thing". I have stress, depression and anxiety issues and take 5 different meds for this condition for a few years now. What do you think about the doctor saying I could wait 6 months? If she had real worries about it wouldn't she order a biopsy right away? Please send your answer in wording that is large and not blurry. I can hardly read the words.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Miss XXXXXXX
I am sure the small lesion that they have seen is harmless. Thst is the reason, it changed the shape when compressed.
Fine needle biopsy next week will make you relax.
Good luck.
Keep me posted about the results of biopsy.
