What Does My Optokinetic Pattern Test Result Indicate?

Question: hey i got the eng test done this morning and they found that i have an abnormality in the optokinetics test. What could this mean? I am scheduled for an MRI tomorrow. I had an MRI in february and it came back normal. Is it bad to have an abnormality? and is there treatment for this?

Hi Sir,
I have gone through your query; and for your kind information Optokinetic nystagmus is the eye movement elicited by the tracking of a moving field. It differs from smooth pursuit which is the eye movement elicited by tracking of a single distinct target.
Causes of abnormality in the optokinetic test are
1. Visual disorder such as retinitis pigmentosa, Visual acuity is poor.
2. Floccular lesion
3. Medication
4. Degenerative disorder of the brain stem such as progressive supranuclear palsy.

No need of worry, treatment depends upon type of abnormality.
