Brief Answer:
report on sperm count awaited

Detailed Answer:
Hello, greetings! Thanks for posting your query on hcm.

1. Normal liquefaction time is within 60 minutes. Yours is normal.
2. Normal pH is 7.1-8. Yours is within the normal range.
3. The sexual abstinence duration is normal.
4. Normal specimen volume is 2-4 ml and yours is well within in the normal range.
5. Normal sperm motility should be more than 50%. Yours is 42 which falls in the low range. It may not necessarily affect your fertility, values below 25% are generally considered infertile.
6. Normal progressive sperm motility should be more than 30%, yours are again in the low range. This may not cause too much of a problem if your sperm count is adequate.
7. Slow / sluggish spematozoa shouldn't be more that 15%.
8. The viscosity of your sample is high. High viscosity may inhibit sperm motility
8. Midpiece and tailpiece defects, coiled, short and multitails all refer ti the abnormality in the shape of the sperms. More than 30% of the sperms should be of normal shape.

I am not able to decipher the sperm count in the semen report. It would be helpful if you could let me know your sperm count, as that would help me conclude my diagnosis.

Certain measures can be taken to improve fertility. They include:-
1. Maintaining a rich diet coupled with antioxidants like selenium. It is found in dairy products, eggs and nuts. Take a Vitamin E capsule everyday.
2. Avoid stress, smoking and alcohol. Limit the intake of caffeine.
3. Avoid wearing tight undergarments, avoid biking/too hot baths/sauna. Exercise and stay fit.

Wishing you good health.
