What Does My Semen Analysis Test Report Indicate?
Question: Dear sir,
my semen report says appearance normal, volume 2.0ml, ph 8 count 99mill/ml, total sperm count 198.0 mill/ejaculate, PR 46% , NP 08%, Viability 69%, morphology normal 05% / abnormal 95%. pls advice!

As per the new WHO guidelines:
Your sperm count (99 millions/mL), Grade A (PR)+B (NP) motility (54%), Viability, and the Normal Morphology (5%) are within the normal ranges.
I would advise you the following:
1. Avoid alcohol, stress, and smoking.
2. Do regular exercise
3. Take healthy balanced diet, fresh fruits, vegetables, poultry, etc.
4. Multivitamins with Zinc and anti-oxidants.
5. Use loose cotton undergarments.
Hope the suggestions given above would be useful in increasing the chances of pregnancy.

Usually it is the most active and motile (the fittest) with normal morphology sperm which can cause fertilization of the ovum and thus pregnancy. However, the possibility of an abnormal sperm causing fertilization can not be ruled out hence miscarriage or harmful effects on the baby although very rare but can occur.
