What Does My Semen Analysis Test Results Indicate?
Question: Hi, I hav took Semen analysis test and below are the results
Macroscopic:
Volume: 2.5 ml
Colour : Greyish White
Reaction /pH : Alkaline
Viscocity: Normal
Liquefaction time : 25 mins
Microscopic:
sperm count : 32 mil/ml
Agglutination Motility: Absent
Progressive Motility: 30%
Non Progressive Motility: 15%
Non Motile : 55%
MORPHOLOGY
Normal forms : 60%
Abnormal forms : 40%
OTHER FINDINGS
Pus Cells : Plenty/HPF
Epithelial Cells : Nil
Spermatogenic Cells : Nil
RBC : Nil
Impression : NORMOSPERMIA WITH INFECTION
could you please advise, what exactly the problem is ? what is effecting pregnancy ? and what are your suggestions.
Also what is mean by NORMOSPERMIA WITH INFECTION ? will this effect in any ways ? how can this be reduced; and how much time it takes to clear the infection ?
request you to eloberate each point clearly and suggest DO's & Don't s and suggest any medication ..when can we go for baby ? please suggest Thanks

I have gone through your reports in detail.
Your semen analysis report suggests infection with mildly decreased motility.Chances of pregnancy has been affected due to infection and decreased motility.
Infection is indicated by the presence of pus cells in semen. Normally there shouldn't be any pus cells in semen.
Infection may be due to prostatitis,UTI etc.
You need antibiotics for infection.
You need few more investigation like routine hemogram,Semen culture and sensitivity,RBS,Ultrasound of pelvis should be done.Trans rectal sonography of prostate can be done if needed.
Proper antibiotics should be prescribed after culture and sensitivity report.
Besides infection,motility is also mildly decreased.Normally 50 % sperms should be motile.
With control of infection,motility will definitely improve.You should also do exercise and take nutritious food.
Other findings like sperm count,liquefaction time are normal.
Normal sperm count is 20-40 millions/ml.
Liquefaction time is also normal.
Morphology of sperms is also normal.According to Kruger criteria:more than 14% of the sperm should have normal shape.Your number is far above the minimum criteria
Don't worry at all.It can take 10-12 days to control infection and chances will definitely improve.
