What Does My Skin Biopsy Test Result Indicate?
Question: had left postauricular skin biopsy, report reads. superficial and nodulo-infiltrative basal cell carcinoma with sclerosis and squamoid differentiation, margins involved. How serious is this? Thanks

I read your question and i understand your concern. I am afraid the histopathology report points towards basal cell carcinoma a skin cancer. But a good thing about this cancer is that it rarely spreads, so as early as possible excision should be planned. You may discuss different treatment options with your doctor like Mohs procedure, ED&C (Electrodesiccation and curettage) , freezing etc and let them decide what is best for you.

Thanks Dr. is it possible this will spread to lymph nodes. Suppose to cut an stitch on 3/16/16. then send off to pathologist. First they took piece of skin off and sent to pathologist. Thats when they said about redoing going little deeper then sew back.Worries me is how they remove all 2nd time. Guess pathologist report will tell.Then what if they do not get it then. Thanks
