What Does My Sonogram Report Indicate?
Question: Last week a sonogram showed: "Multiple hyperechoic circumscribed splenic lesions, nonspecific. Consider abdominal CT for further evaluation." CT scheduled for this Wednesday. What will be the expected result of the CT?
Brief Answer:
hi and welcome
Detailed Answer:
Well ct scan Will make that appearance of these lesions become more specific. It is obvious that there is abnormal finding in spleen but it can't be determined what kind of pathology is there. Such lesions indicate tumors which can be primary or secondary but types of tumor can't be determined. Well circumscribed is good sign and it is likely to be hamartoma, hemangioma or other benign tumors so you have right to be optimistic. Malignant tumors are more infiltrating, irregular shaped and go with significant symptoms and abnormal blood picture.Wish you good health.regards
