Question: my husband under went a sonography for the prostrate due to increased frequency of micturition.
it shows that prostate is mildly enlarged in size and show homogenous parenchymal echoes. what does it mean

Thanks for query here.
The Ultrasound features show that the prostate is enlarged and is benign enlargement (homogenous parenchymal echoes). This is extremely common condition and easily treatable.
He may need voiding cystogram (VUG) if necessary.
Your husband's doctor will prescribe him medication to reduce the frequency of urination like Terazosin or Tamsulosin (flomax).
Besides he should avoid drinking water after 6PM every evening. Empty the bladder as frequently and as complete as possible. The better way is to sit and urinate. This helps to prevent infection because of urine stagnation.
