Question: The results from a tomo of my breasts resulted in "mild regression in breast density with more apparent UOQ macronodularity on the right additional left retroareolar multinodularity and a stable calcifying nodular posteriorly.
I'm being sent for ultra sound. Could you translate what this basically means in terms of malignancy?

Brief Answer:
Hello dear. it appears almost normal but usg is required.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear. Welcome to HCM.
I have read the details.

Breasts are more dense or say firm or heavy in young female.
As the age increases, the density of breast decreases and more features can be apparent. The calcific nodule is not showing any change and is thus stable and showing no signs of malignancy.

However the retroareolar and upper outer quadrant nodules have been more apparent which require further evaluation by a complementary ultrasonography. At this stage it appears almost normal but ultrasonography will throw more light on these new nodules.

These nodules on tomo do not show features of typical malignancy but since have become more apparent, therefore will require evaluation.

It is also possible that ultrasound is still suspicious and then the final diagnosis will be by biopsy.
Hope you've understood now.

Thanks and regards
