What Does My Transvaginal Scan Test Report Indicate?
Question: Hi,
4 weeks ago I have had a D&C procedure done to remove my 13weeks triploidy baby. Yesterday I went back for a follow up check up and my doctor found out (from transvaginal scan) there is a 2.5 x 1.1 cm tissue remains left in the uterus, hence doctor will conduct another procedure to remove the remaining tissue tomorrow.
Is it normal to have remains left behind after D&C procedure?
May I know is this a high risk procedure?
Can I take long haul flight (8 hours per journey) on the 2nd day and 3rd day after the discharge?
Do I need to refrain from sexual intercourse for another 1 month after the procedure?

Brief Answer:
Simple and safe procedure
Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
It is common to have retained products after abortion and is seen in 20-25% of patients and this size is seen in 8-10% and this same is requirement of d&c which is a simple surgical procedure and thus not at all a high risk one in a clean hospital via a qualified doctor.
You can travel without any hassle and can indulge in sexual activity after 2-3 days when you are comfortable and devoid of pain.
There is no need to opt much of rest and can resume your daily activities as before in a day or two after the procedure.
Take care.
