What Does My Ultrasound Scan Report Indicate?

Question: we had some interactions with Dr XXXXXXX in first week of Sept 2014. I want to submit new US report of XXXXXXX 2015 and get his opinion once more if I should go for PET CT scan now or not since my treating doctor has moved to Medanta and next trip to XXXXXXX I would like to meet him there and if his team also recommends PET CT scan - I will get it done there. How much does it cost in XXXXXXX ?
Brief Answer:
Yes, you can get it done here.
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Good to hear from you again.
How are you feeling now?
I am unable to access your report of XXXXXXX 2015. Please upload your report again if possible.
You can get your PET CT done here at Medanta. I would'nt know the exact cost but it would be approximately 25,500/-.
Take care and do let me know the report or we can meet once you are in XXXXXXX

Dear Dr XXXXXXX
I have uploaded the US report just now. May be you can have a look and revert with your impressions and if it is a must to go for PET CT scan now. Its almost 2 years 8 months since my surgery and I had no health issues so far. What Dr A S Soin and Dr Balachandran from Medanta had told me that chances of recurrence are very small and if it has to happen, it will happen within 1 year and in worst case 2 years. So for 2 years I was doing CT scan - first every 3 months and then every 6 months. If it is really necessary I will do it but these days I read lot of articles which talk of corporate hospitals doing tests which are not really necessary and are heavy on patient's pocket not only here but also in USA and western countries. PET CT scan was recommended by a doctor who was based in XXXXXXX on behalf of Medanta and I met him ealy this year when he mentioned this to me. But to put all doubts to rest, I will do it some times in May-June 2015 when I plan to visit XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
USG normal. Get PET done at convenience.
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
The Ultrasound looks absolutely normal. But your doctor was right in saying that USG is not that detailed. Only a PET CT can tell in detail whether there is any chance of any tumor anywhere in the body. But, if you do not have any symptoms then you could delay the PET till your convenient time. It would be better to get it done anyhow as your Surgeon feels so and I think no CT has been done since Sep 2014. You will need to take the final decision. It has to be done, now or later.
Take care,
Dr Rishi, New XXXXXXX XXXXXXX

Thanks Dr XXXXXXX
NO CT scan has been done after Sept 2014 - only US was done as advised by my surgeon. But this 2 year time limit is over already but I will do it as you also suggest in next 3-4 months to close this open issue and hopefully thereafter not even US or CT will be needed ?? Correct !!!
Thanks once again Dr XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Get PET CT done at your convenience in the next 2-3 months
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
No CT has been done in past six months almost. So PET CT should be done whenever earliest you can,
I cant say nothing will be needed but you might require a PET CT or CECT every year with Ultrasounds in the interim period. Do not worry. Get the PET done earliest whenever possible with your commitments. It is not an emergency.
Take care and feel well.
