What Does My Ultrasound Scan Report Indicate?
Question: What does placenta is anterior grade 1-2 at 18 weeks? Also states that anterior border of placenta is highly irregular and unusual in appearance.
Brief Answer:
Need follow up ultrasounds
Detailed Answer:
Hi,welcome to healthcare magic.
Placenta is anterior means that the placenta is along the anterior border of the uterus and grade 1-2 is also normal ie cotyledons not formed which is normal for this gestational age ie no signs of placental ageing.
The worrying point is irregular anterior border of placenta which should be smooth. In such a case chances for sudden separation of placenta are increased and sometimes blood supply to the baby is reduced.
In my opinion one you need follow up ultrasounds at 3 weeks interval to rule out any premature separation and secondly after your gynaecologists opinion start tab duphaston 10 mg twice daily.
Take care all the best.
