What Does My Ultrasound Scan Report Indicate?
Question: my right leg is much thicker than my left leg. 6 months ago, heart checked for normalcy and ultra sound done of leg. nothing cardiac found. but right leg continues to become larger. also have leg cramps sometimes in right leg upon rising in morning. should i ask gp for an mri or catscan?
Brief Answer:
CT angiography may be required
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
Most commonly this is seen in venous thrombosis but also it may be a sign of lymphedema, cellulitis or soft tissue tumours.
If the Doppler ultrasound was fine, then it would be better to do CT venography and it would show us both veins and arteries as well as the muscles of legs. You should apply elastic stockings and avoid long standing till then.
Wish you good health.
Regards
