Question: Hello Doctor,

My wife - xxxxxxxx, is 21 weeks pregnant. Our doctor asked us to do a Triple Marker test. My wife got the risk as 1:260. Today we got the Ultrasound test and the baby in the womb is fine and there is not issues with any of the baby organs. My wife is really worried about the triple marker test. Please advise.

Brief Answer:
No need to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I can understand your concerns.

Estimated risk of 1:260 means very low risk. There is absolutely no need to panic.

Moreover, the ultrasound report is normal which reduces the risk furthermore.

I suggest her not to worry as everything seems fine. Ultrasound and triple marker together have reduced her risk of having any abnormalities in the baby.

Let me know if you need any more help.

Regards
