What Does My Urine Test Report Indicate?

Question: I recemtly underwent urin test .all things are normal except pus cells are found and it is 2-3 hpf.does that mean infection

Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that your routine analysis has revealed 2-3 pus cells .

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem
1) Do you have any urinary symptoms like Burning urination ,frequency for urination ,urgency etc?

The presence of 2-3 pus cells suggests either mild UTI or inflammation in anywhere from kidney ,ureter or Bladder ..

Please get your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.

Please take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefixime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkalizer thrice daily .Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.

Ensure to drink more water .To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.

Hi,

I have no burning senation/inflammation etc.Only mild but continious pain in left testicle based on which I consulted doctor and he recommended the urine test.

He has also given me some antibiotics etc which I am taking .

Thanks for follow up .The pain in testicle is mostly due to infection of Testis (Orchitis) which is always secondary to UTI of which one may not be aware of .

Continue taking antibiotic prescribed by your family Physician .

Hi ,

I consulted general physician at XXXXXXX hospital in electronic city.
FYI,the doctor gave me absolut36 and Ace-proxyvon before my urine test to relieve me of my testiculur pain.

Today another doctor saw the report and said that pus cell HPF for me (2-3) is normal.

I am not sure and hence want to consult a urologist and have proper antibiotics.

Please suggest what to do.I know if there is infection it is mild only but still i want to fix the issue asap before its late.

You need to consult qualified Urologist for clinical assessment and get urine culture done so that infection can be controlled quickly by taking appropriate antibiotic .
