
What Does My Vitamin-D Test Report Indicate?

Question: I have done a Vitamin D test and the report is attached. Please advise any medicines have to take due to deficiency

dear XXXXXXX hi! I have seen your vitamin D report as well as your bone density report.
Few statements before telling you what to do.
1. bone density what you did is a screening which is not gold standard.
2. at 34 years , i don't suspect much of osteoporosis.
3. vitamin D Deficiency is becoming universal.
now treat if you must, you may take cholecalciferol 60,000 IU once a week at night after dinner. for 12 weeks , and then repeat the test .
bone density to be tested by dexa scan (dual energy x ray absorptiometer) at three sites - 1. neck femur, 2. wrist, 3 lower back.
