What Does Negative Fourth Generation HIV Test After Unprotected Sex Indicate?

I had an exposure with a CSW 7 months back. It was protected but condom came off at withdrawl. This was the only biggest first and last mistake in my life. I learnt my lession. Anyway, after that mistake I had fear of HIV so I tested 1 week, 10 week and 14 week with 4th generation hiv test all were non reactive and finally at 6.5 months tested with tridot test for hiv AB thats also negative. But as I have arrount 5 swollen nodes (2 on chest, one one arm, one on neck, one on back) all of 1 cm, I tested once again for HSV 1/2 Igg and Igm. And positive at Igg - Index value 28, >1 is reactive. I gone thru the test as Apart from swollen nodes also I had experianced small pimples on penis XXXXXXX 3 times in last 7 months. My biggest concern are those swollen nodes. Could it be due to hepes or anything else. Please reply. Thanks for your nice service
Unlilkely to be due to herpes.

Hi
Thank you for query. I am Dr Bharatesh D Basti answering your query.
You are negative for HIV that is confirmed even after 6.5 months .so you can allay fear of HIV totally.
The lesions you are having on the penis is likely to be herpes genitalis as you are describing it as recurrent small vesicles. These transmit as STD or by skin to skin contact. Moreover HSV IG G antibodies is positive. It indicates past infection. You need to take antivirals like acyclovir when active lesions are present. There is a tendency for it to recur.
Are you sure that those on chest and arms are lymph nodes or is it something else.usually 1 cm nodes are not of much significance. It can be Lipoma also. The morphology is not clear.please get it examined by a doctor and confirm whether they are lymph nodes.
herpes causing such lymph nodes is unlikely .it can cause lymph nodes along the drainage areas of infection. As you have penis rash inguinal nodes may be affected.
You can get back to me for any clarifications.
Thank you

The reasons for get tested for HSV and syphilis is that I got my first lifetime penial OB (small white headed pimples, painless) after 3 months of that exposure with swollen nodes. These nodes are stayed there since than (it has been 4 months) barring the neck node which comes and goes. I got positive for HSV (don't know which type) and Doc, at medhelp site, said the infection you caught could be 2-3 week/1-2 months/1-2 or more years earlier. But definitely positive. Also suggest that Lymphadenopathy could be due to Virus (HIV/HSV/EBV or mono), Bacteria or Cancer (Lymphoma as you said).
I was examined by a Dr S XXXXXXX (Physician Ex-AMIS) 2 months back who didn't look/examined the swollen nodes and suggested to go for LFT, Kidney test, CBC, Lipid and X-Ray. Test resulted revealed slightly elevated cholesterol and cough around nose. The Doc diagnosed those were the cause for swollen nodes and prescribed some medicines which I took for a month but didn't help to ease from the said symptoms.
Anyways, due to my curiosity to know what going wrong with me I tested for HSV/Syphilis where HSV appears positive. Sir I feel absolutely fine (healthy) now a days and would feel happy if the nodes could be due to HSV (no cure and more than half of the population affected).
Sir,I have learned my lesson from that exposure and have to learn how to live with it or manage, but those swollen nodes (~1 CM) enhanced my stress once again. What is the probability of Cancer (Lymphoma). Please evaluate my present status based on above explanation. I would like to live long.... Could it be possible???
unlikely for lymphoma or cancer

Hi
Thank you for follow up query.
usually 1 cm nodes are not of much significance and need not worry and they subside.
The local lymph node may be due to herpes.
There is no possibility of lymphomas or cancer as your blood tests have come normal.
as the neck lymph nodes are transitory you need not bother it is due to nonspecific infections.
If cholesterol is suspected cause by physician it may be lipoma check with the physician for the chest and arm swellings .
You can get back to me for any clarifications else please close the discussion and rate.
Thank you
