What Does Not Responding To Loud Noises Of A 9 Year Old Indicate?

Question: My daughter is 9 days old now. She does not get startled by loud noises. We are not sure whether she's responding correctly to the sounds we make. People here are saying that babies will react well to noises. How do I test this? What are the common things I can do?

Babies will react to noise by turning towards sound.But not before 2-3 months.So at 9 days of life we can not know about hearing by this method.There is a test called OAE ) oto acoustic emission ) by which you can come to know hearing of day 1 baby too.It is routinely done in US before discharging from maternity.At 2 months BERA test can be done to know about hearing
