What Does Numbness On The Thigh Near The Knee Suggest?
Does the area have lighter skin tone?
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:
1. Numbness in the area, suggests possible neural damage.
2. Is there any area of decreased pigmentation or any recent injury around the area. Look for any whitish patch/ lighter skin area at the area of numbness.
3. If there is no lighter skin area, possible neuropathy needs to be thought of.
4. Vitamin B deficiency could be the cause of neuropathy, if no associated chronic diseases are present. Take Vit B12, Vit B6 supplements.
However, if there is lighter skin area, then biopsy is necessary from the area. Meet your doctor for biopsy. If no lighter skin area, nutritional supplements will be helpful. Have good hydration (atleast 4-6 liters of water per day)
Hope it helps.

Nerve compression can cause numbness.

Hi XXXXXXX XXXXXXX
Thanks for replying.
Compression of the nerve due to abnormal position could be the cause. If this is the case, yes it will recover. Maybe, it might take a day or two. Take nutritional supplements, protein rich diet along with good hydration. It should be alright.
Hope it helps.
