What Does "old Small Granulomatous Calcifications In Left Posterior Temporal" Mean?

report came as below
old small granulomatous calcifications in left posterior temporal and both occipital lobes
what does it mean
Sign of old healed infections
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX
Thanks for writing in to us.
I have read your query in detail. Your report says that there are at least three small calcifications in the brain as mentioned. It is a very common finding. These are deposits of calcium following infection with probably neuriocysticercosis, a worm. This might have happened years ago and theses calcifications have occurred after the worm is dead. Usually they are harmless but in few patients it can cause seizures. Some patients with this have also reported occasional headaches but this is also not commonly seen.
You should observe cleanliness while cooking and having food and wash your hands before meals regularly. If you are having seizure then you may need to be put on medications.
Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any further doubts.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX
Thanks for writing in to us.
I suggest you take her to a Psychiatrist or Neurologist and get her neruological and cognitive clinical examination and mental abilities done to know any possible functional disorder. If required an EEG may also be done to know if the waves generated in the brain are normal. Treatment depends on the diagnosis made after examining clinically.
Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any further doubts.
