It seems to come and go.I had a colonoscopy and all was good.He XXXXXXX showed some diverticultis. I am a diabetic and on metformin,glidepride,I also take xanex and zolof for anxiety and depression.Most times it last for a few hours with having to run to the bathroom and sometimes I don't make it and have no kind of warning.It also burns.Please advise the best course of action.

If your colonoscopy was normal then there is nothing to worry.
In case you have started Metformin recently this can be because of that also.
I advise in such situations first of all to get a Stool Routine and Microscopy done.
Once it is available review with me to discuss further course of action.
Till then consume high fiber diet.
Also see in case you pass any blood with stools.
Don't strain in toilet.
