Question: I have pain on my lower left side that very tender when I push at it, had dirareia, gas, hurts when I try to get off a chair to stand up and walk

Most likely you are having diverticulitis. Diverticulitis is a digestion problem that happens when pouches that form in the wall of your large intestine get inflamed or infected.

For acute phase of diverticulitis antibiotic therapy is required but once the acute phase settles down. Severe and drastic lifestyle modificatory changes have to be followed by the patient for many months to avoid recurrent attacks. Mild diverticulitis can be treated with rest, changes in your diet and antibiotics. Severe or recurring diverticulitis may require surgery.

CT scan of the abdomen.
Stool routine and micro-analysis.

Cap Clindamycin 300 mg twice daily for 5 days
