What Does Persistent Fever In An Infant Indicate?

Question: Helle my son is 29 months old and had a fever for the past two months, first it was a sinus infection then ear infection. Now he has a fever of 103.4 and we took him to hi PED, they ran blood works and the only abnormalities were, monocyte levels are high at 1.2x , Red cell Did width is high at 15.4 and mean platelet volume is low at 6.8. The doctors can not explain the fever for almoth 8 weeks and at this point all other tests came out within normal range beside what I mentioned. Please Help

Possibly the fever is due to a viral cause.

However, I would request you to confirm if the fever has been there continuously present for the last 8 weeks. Also, please mention if CRP and Widal test have been checked, and if so, how were the levels (not just positive or negative).
