Brief Answer:
Please upload the report!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this finding and all the disturbing thoughts this has caused you. The interpretation of this test is very tricky and I will like to take a look at it myself. I will need to look at the IgM component of this test. IgG can be positive without any outbreak because not all infections cause outbreaks. IgG talks of past infections and IgM are more suggestive of recent infections. There is also a possibility of false positive because HSV1 and HSV2 are very similar and cross react.

In all, I will like to review the report. Please upload it to our page. There is a possibility of fall positive and you could have been infected without necessarily developing outbreaks.

I hope this sheds some light on it. More insights would come when the report is uploaded. Until then, I wish you well.

Brief Answer:
This suggests you were exposed in the past!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the upload.

I have reviewed the test results. They are positive for IgG which suggests that sometime in the distant past, you were exposed to herpes virus. You have never had any outbreaks and therefore there is no need for treatment at this time. Also, you are not infectious and cannot transmit herpes without having chive sores. I will like to know if you have ever had cold oral sores.

I hope this helps. I wish you well.

yes I have had cold sores before. i would have one every time some body pisses me off and I couldnt express my feelings next day I get a cold sore. When you say i was exposed to herps in the past but I am not contagious. does it mean I can live normal with out transmit it to another person? even if i have sex?

Brief Answer:
Yes, as long as there are no active sores, you cannot transmit!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

The cold sores are probably related to this herpes. Unless you have an outbreak at the genitals, you cannot transmit herpes through sex. However, avoid kissing when you have active cold sores.

I hope this helps. Let me know if there is anything more you would like me to do for you at this time.
