What Does Punctuate Gliosis Of Pituitary Gland Indicate?

Question: I had been having problems with thyroid so doctor did MRI of pituitary gland. Can back ok but report says that I have Nonspecific punctate gliosis in the posterior aspect of each corona radiate. No tumor suspected. Should I be worried?

Blood test came back with Hypothyroidism. I have had problems with fatigue, very sensitive to cold, and weight gain. I tried Armour thyroid but it made me very tense and anxious so I stopped. He is now trying me on synthetic med.

Brief Answer: Primary hypothyroidism. Detailed Answer: Dear sir, primary hypothyroidism is a case where TSH is high and t4 and t3 are low. you may start with Thyroxine as per your body weight. 1 mcg per kg every morning empty stomach. repeat tests after 6 weeks and let us know. regards!

I saw an endocrinologist for thyroid but he said I would have to go to a neurologist for answer on brain. Are you sure no worries on Nonspecific punctate gliosis in the posterior aspect of each corona radiate.? I do not want to get Alzheimer's or Ms.

Detailed Answer: Dear user, In most probability these punctuate gliosis represents age related repeated ischemic or hypertensive events. but still one needs to see the MRI for more accurate answer. also I had asked for what were the symptoms why was MRI asked for. so the final answer can be given by some neurologist who sees your MRI and who sees you. regards!
