What Does Random Blood Glucose Of 163 Indicate?
You are under "impaired glucose tolerance"...
Detailed Answer:
Good day ..
Dear friend first of all RBS (random blood glucose) is not the investigation of choice to diagnose diabetes mellitus!! You need to go for fasting plasma glucose in the morning after 10 hours of overnight fasting and with usual food you take regularly... You also need to get your HbA1c done .... if Fasting glucose is >/=126 on three separate occasions and HbA1c >/=6.5 you will be diagnosed as diabetes mellitus.
Of course with usual symptoms as frequent urination, increased thirst and hunger than before if there is strong family history of diabetes mellitus then you need to worry with this RBS of 163 what you got... (>200+symptoms=diabetes) .. any way as for now RBS should be below 140 mg/dl you have slightly higher RBS levels you need to start thinking of some lifestyle modifications.. here are few suggestions for you ,.........
First stay away from all the fast / processed / and fried food stuffs .. divide your meal in to 4-5 parts per day whenever you feel hungry.. add more of fiber rich food stuffs like green leafy vegetables, raw fruits.. (not juices), eat very less of carbohydrates (rice) avoid sugar completely.. take Millets and breads prepared out of it (like ragi.. ragi is a very good source of calcium too...)
do take more of proteins ... like boiled egg white... say no to oils and cholesterol rich food stuffs ...
you can take fish (boiled) but chicken (without skin) rarely.
Based on this you prepare your diet chart and strictly follow it ..Do exercise .. walk at least half an hour to one hour a day ... try and practice yoga and pranayama ...
Quit smoking and reduce your alcohol intake. Moreover, beet root juice (inorganic nitrate), olive leaves, garlic, turmeric, tamarind also have proven benefits. if you can follow these (have to!!) you can definitely see difference yourself by the time you have your next blood investigation report in two months ...
ALL THE BEST
