What Does Red Spot On Upper Abdomen Indicate?
Question: Last week when I got back from Cabos, I noticed a red spot on my upper abdomen. I did not pay too much attention to it but as the week went by I noticed that it would not go away! It has not grown and it does not itch or hurt. Today when i looked at it it sort of looks light brown! Any Ideas on what it could be??
Brief Answer:
Primarily such spots are some insect or bug bite.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Commonly such spots are due to insect or bug bite that went unnoticed. Most dont need any treatment.Change in color of the spot is due to altered blood products at the site of bite.
If at all you want you may apply a broad spectrum antiseptic cream over the spot and keep it under observation for two more weeks.
Do keep watch on symptoms like fever , as few insect bites can cause you infections.
So wait and watch would be the ideal approach.Regards.

Some one told me it looked like the first stages of psiarosis. But its just one spot. What worries me its that it has been the same size for the whole week and if it was an insect bite wouldn't have gone away or shrank for that matter? Did you see the pictures I attached?
Brief Answer:
It is not psoriasis.
Detailed Answer:
It doesn't look like psoriasis at all.Psoriasis lesions present with skin flakes. So that is entirely ruled out.
I have seen the pictures. Its typical of small haemorrhage under the skin.such hemorrhage change colors over period, but size remains more or less same.
Typically such bleeds are caused by insect bites or undue pressure over the skin.Sometimes pinching can cause this.Since pinching and undue pressure would have not gone unnoticed, it is likely to be insect bites.
Regards.
