What Does Rise In The Monocyte Count Suggest?

CBC on 1/9/2015 noted with low RBC (4.0 / 4.5 L ) HGB (13.2 / 13.5 L) HCT (39.8) and MCV (98 / 100) MCH (34/34) Monocytes (10.8 H 0-10, abs 637) platlets (150 / 400 range 150-400). WBC was 5.9 (3.8 - 10). Other ranges = not much room to go up or down without being out of range. I should note that for 3 weeks had a cold and then for 10 days bronchits (esentially sick for all of Nov 2014). A month later I had this CBC. Also had another 7 day bought with bronchitis on 3/1/2015.
This 1/1/2015 CBC was the first time I ever had any ranges (numbers as mentioned above, out of range the past 7.5 years)
Primary said don't worry take multivitamins, folic, and high b12. So I did for 4 moths...Folic 800mg or so, B12 5000mg. Follow-up CBC is on 5/1/2015. Everything looks great...except monoctyes XXXXXXX to 11.3.
I dug up all my records...monocytes with WBC...should I be concerned? Hate how the mind creates patterns and not a fan of things on the net about rising values.
5/2007: 9.2%, 497 abs, WBC 5.4
10/2011: 9.1%, 437 abs, WBC 4.8
11/2012: 10%, 600 abs, WBC 6
3/2013: 9.9%, 525 abs, WBC 5.3
5/2013: 10.7%, 503 abs, WBC 4.7
1/2015: 10.8%, 637 abs, WBC 5.9
5/2015: 11.3%, 667 abs, WBC 5.9
Other: history of health anxiety since 2007 due to drs thinking I had ALS. Work stressfull job and been fighting insomia for years (on and off...few good months, few bad months). Been extra stressed due to moms stroke in 11/2013 and then divorce 7 months later (still fighting in divorce).
No need to worry about monocytes.
Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Your monocyte level remains at upper normal level since many years. Its not rising pattern. It is stable with high normal level between 9 to 11%.
Many healthy individual have this kind of high normal count without any symptoms or abnormality. So it doesn't require any treatment or investigations. It can be consider as normal variation.
So don't worry about monocytes count. Just be relaxed.
Continue your other treatment with vitamin supplements. If you have any other / missed concern, please let me know we can discuss about it.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
