What Does Sensation Of Bugs Crawling Over The Cheeks, Ears, And Neck Indicate?
Question: Hello - My husband was diagnosed with multiple myeloma with light chains a year and a half ago. He had a bone marrow transplant last summer and is currently receiving ongoing Revlimed for a year. He recently was over exposed to the sun and his face is sun burned. He is also having a sensation of bugs crawling over his cheeks, ears, and neck. What is causing this?
I notice that you have a orthopaedic surgeon as the user specialist. I do not think that is a good choice. The specialist should be a hematologist/oncologist or a dermatologist. Please correct.

Thanks for posting your query.
The sensation of bugs crawling over the cheeks, ears, and neck can happen due to nutritional deficiency, allergic reactions, excessive cold, exposure to chemicals,electrolyte imbalance etc.
This is can also happen due to sunburns causing the irritation of the superficial nerves.
Some measures:
1)You can take some vit B12 supplements for some days and see if the symptoms improve.
2)Avoid alcohol,sea food as it may trigger an allergic reaction.Prefer having home made food.
3)Apply petroleum jelly overnight.
4)Have a glass of orange juice or any mixed fruit so that if any electrolyte imbalance is corrected.
5)Avoid stress and relax the mind.
If the symptoms persist even after 5 days or worsen consider visiting a Physician for evaluation as a physical examination would be beneficial.
