Brief Answer:
cancer definitely not worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi

The serum calcium levels quoted normal. A marginal increase has least significance and would not matter. as calcium levels are influenced by few other significant factors.

Just go ahead with regular testing once a year. Check for vitamin d deficiency which coexists.

Hope this answers.

Okay so the third follow up showed calcium at 10.3 again. This makes 1 test at 10.1 and two at 10.3. This is nothing at all to worry about doctor? I appreciate the help.My BUN has also been slightly elevated. Could dehydration be causing my calcium serum to be high?

Brief Answer:
yes not to worry

Detailed Answer:
It would be good to know serum albumin as well. Dehydration needs to be corrected first. Serum albumin next and Serum calcium last. No worry for cancer.

If you are overweight then it is important to lose weight and then test above levels.

Dr. My serum albumin was 5.4 so inside the range of normal. No need for correction with albumin then, right? Also, an endocrinologist on your site did advise that I do several follow up tests to look more at calcium. Is this really necessary, or can I go back in a year given that I feel fine and my level is only slightly raised? Maybe my calcium is high because I'm dehydrated? Could you faithfully say this is almost 0% from a cancer? Thank you so so much for your help. Correction! Your colleague endocrinologist explained that my calcium serum is at 10.3 but my albumin is 5.4, so my corrected calcium is actually 9.1 which falls well within the perimeters of normal. Do you agree then? It sounds like based off of this he is okay with just annual checkups and no additional investigation. Please just give me your thoughts before I leave and rate highly.

Brief Answer:
as replied earlier

Detailed Answer:
As I said earlier I am not concerned at all after knowing your albumin and corrected calcium. I reiterate annual calcium checks. That is it.

On the basis of labs submitted I do not see a worry about cancer.

Hence I second endocrinologist opinion.
