What Does Severe Body Itching Along With Redness And Burning Sensation Indicate?

Question: Yesterday around four I turned beet red, so hot felt like burning, beet red and itching from head to toe. I had eaten around 4 with only normal food. Had daughter take to emergency. Shaking uncontrollably by arrival. They gave steroids, Benadryl and something for itch by IV. Released about 2 hours with orders to continue Benadryl every 6 hours. I had done this same thing 10 days before, only milder. Also did this about 6 years ago and 25 years ago, both milder.
My question, could this be my 1 thyroid after cancer had the other removed taking mild med?

Brief Answer:
It is not caused by thyroid:

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!
I have gone carefully through your concern.
The symptoms you reported are suggestive for an allergic reaction that can not be due to thyroid medications, as you have been taking them for many years i suppose. So thyroid can not be the cause.
So, your treating physician should try to find the cause of this allergic reaction, in order to avoid a second exposure.
Wish you good health.

Best wishes,
Dr.Mirjeta
