What Does "shadow On Liver" Mean?
Question: Yesterday I went for a HIDA scan to check my gallbladder function. The results of the test came back saying that my gb and everything else was fine - but that the test showed a possible "shadow" on my liver. I already had a CT scan about a month ago and everything was normal/fine. My Primary Care doctor said that the HIDA doesn't visualize the liver well, and since the CT was clear I have nothing to worry about. He said that in this case a "shadow" likely means that a part of it wasn't seen. Do I truly not need to be worried?
