What Does Sonography Showing Mildly Bulky Pancreas And Fatty Infiltration Of Liver?
Question: I met with an accident 2 weeks earlier falling from bike at slow speed no fractures, I recvd the impact on my chest. During Xray and sonography it was observed mildly bulky pancreas and fattly infiltration of liver. I m diabetic (190/120) with cholestrol and blood pressure (140/90). What am I to do now.
Brief Answer:
Take this treatment.
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXX,
1. The best way to deal with all your problems is to modify your lifestyle. If you consume alcohol, then you should minimize it. Because the main cause of fatty infiltration of the liver is mostly liquor consumption.
2. There is a drug called metformin. This improves insulin resistance. This is a good drug for your liver issue (indirectly), as well as your diabetes and hypertension, because this combination roughly leads to a “metabolic syndrome” which I think and feel you might be having. Though it is a prescription drug. You will need a prescription for it.

I m already under metformin medication (Carbophage) and metrogyl (blood pressure) and I m not alcholic. My question is under this situation what should I do.
I m worried only about the fatty liver syndrome and inflamation in pancreas.
Is there some test which I should undergo for clarifying the underlying cause other then diabetic.

Brief Answer:
Do these tests for pancreas and cholesterol.
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXX,
Thanks for asking this query. You will soon be fine.
Metrogyl is called as metronidazole. It is given for stomach infections and not for blood pressure.
Now, I am telling you that fatty infiltration of the liver is because of high cholesterol.
1. You asked for a specific test or tests for fatty liver.
2. Do, this. Do the cholesterol and “lipid profile” tests for LDL and VLDL that are reported in the cholesterol tests.
3. You asked for a test or tests for your pancreas issues.
4. Please do the blood tests for Amylase and Lipase too.
5. These are both blood tests. Cholesterol and Pancreatic tests.
6. Therefore you will know exactly the status of your liver and pancreas.
7. I have answered all your questions.
