In most cases it is seen in tendinitis where muscle is inflamed and then there is friction between tendon and bone. This is seen in people who are physically active. You should rest, take nonsteroid painkillers and put cold compresses. Other causes may vs vascular disorders such as deep vein thrombosis or arteries sclerosis.
