What Does The Liver Function Test Result Indicate?
Question: I am asking this question for my husband, who is 29 years old.
He is a bit obese and BMI is high. Recently we have done a Liver function test and the result is as follows
Bilirubin total - 0.75 mg/dl
Bilirubin direct - 0.18 mg/dl
Total protein - 7.6 gm/dl
serum albumin - 3.8 gm/dl
serum globulin - 3.8
Albumin to Globulin ratio 1.0
SGOT(AST) - 55 IU/L
SGPT(ALT) - 117H IU/L
Alkaline Glutamyl Transferase 96 IU/L
Serum Cortisol Random 10.36 ug/dl Could you please let us know the result?

Thanks for your query. The tests are in acceptable range except for the mildly elevated liver parenchymal enzymes i.e SGOT and SGPT levels. He must have been screened for hepatitis B and C...
If they were normal, nothing is to worry.
Only have some limitation of fatty food intake...take plenty of glucose and just chill....

He also having daibetes
Fasting blood sugar(FBS) - 163
Post Prandial Blood Sugar - 209
can he have plenty of glucose?
